Biarritz Hotel, a stunning commercial refurbishment.

The Biarritz Hotel sits in an elevated position in a peaceful corner of St Brelade's Bay; one of the most beautiful beaches in Jersey, with panoramic views.

K-Land was commissioned to refurbish and extend the dining room and external ground floor, and the first floor terrace. This included new glass balustrading and external tiling.

The project was on a tight schedule as the hotel was only shut for the winter season (6 months) and all work had to be completed ready for the summer season’s first bookings.

The site itself presented some challenges for the planned work on the first floor terrace extension, as the Biarritz is situated on a hill. The construction team shored up the hill with concrete panels to support the overhang terrace, all the time working on a sloping site. Access, as with many of our Island projects, was limited – with only footpath access to the back of the hotel. Our solution was to crane all the materials directly over the roof of the hotel to the back.

The work was finished on time, on budget, ready for the summer season.
